US specialist to provide free provide medical missions in Armenia’s regions
Specialists from the United States will provide medical missions and free humanitarian services in the regions of Armenia.
As Renaissance Foundation Armenia reported in a press statement, the group includes surgeons, including maxillofacial and obstetrician-gynecologists, therapists, dentists, pediatricians, oncologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists. Total of 40 specialists - 32 doctors and assistants. Most doctors are foreigners and will share their experience with medical students. Specialists will bring with them modern medical equipment.
It is noted that the team of doctors is already in Armenia and has started working as with the beginning of the week. It is expected that part of the group will leave for Artsakh.
To note, this is the 5th mission of the group in Armenia. Free humanitarian services will be provided in the following regions and cities: Armavir, Gyumri, Akhuryan, Masis, Lori, Ashtarak, Vanadzor, Yerevan, Artsakh. The surgery at Ashtarak Hospital has been thoroughly refurbished to American standards. The total cost of the works done is $650-700.000, of which only $270.000 is for equipment. The opening ceremony of the Ashtarak hospital will be on Friday, October 4, at 3 p.m.
It reminds that anyone wishing to attend the ceremony is free to enter. This mission, as well as the provision of equipment, was accomplished thanks to the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Fresno, leader of the group Berj Apkarian.
