Yerevan Municipality pays 160,000,000 drams to Sanitek
The Yerevan Municipality has transferred 160,000,000 drams to Sanitek for services rendered in the second half of August 2019, the Yerevan mayor’s spokesperson Hakob Karapetyan said on Facebook.
He urged the Sanitek management to use the funds to pay salaries of its employees.
“The Yerevan Municipality no longer has any financial obligations towards Sanitek companies taking into account the companies’ total termination of waste management and sanitary cleaning services in Yerevan since August 29,” he added.
Sabitek employees had been protesting for days in front of the city hall and the government building demanding their due salaries. The waste disposal company, for its part, blamed the municipality, saying the latter had failed to meet its financial obligations.
