Minister says Armenia’s economic growth may exceed 7% this year
Economic growth in Armenia may exceed 7% this year, Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan told reporters on Friday.
According to him, the Armenian government has adopted a policy of striving for high economic growth and providing the necessary conditions for it. “In the medium term, we believe that Armenia should strive to achieve double-digit economic growth. In the short term, it is necessary to ensure 7-8% growth,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, Khachatryan stressed the need to have a sufficient level of investments as a precondition for ensuring sustainable economic growth.
The minister noted that today large investments are made in the fields of renewable energy, construction, processing industry, winemaking and jewelry.
