Dudelange-Qarabag match suspended over drone with Artsakh flag
F91 Dudelange's Europa League group stage clash against FK Qarabag was suspended on Thursday night after a drone carrying a flag of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) was flown over the stadium.
The game was held at Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg.
The drone, carrying the flag, was spotted flying over the pitch in the 30th minute, when Qarabag was leading 2-0, forcing the referee to halt play for more than 20 minutes.
UEFA said the decision to halt the match was taken ''for safety and security reasons."
The action was organized by the First Armenian Front (FAF).
“The action was carried out by our guys from Belgium led by Spartak,” FAF said on Facebook.
The incident was reported by BBC News, The Independent, The Sun and several other leading news outlets.
