Vegetable prices up in Armenia in one month
Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages have been stable in September to compare with August of the ongoing year despite certain fluctuations in the price of certain group of products.
According to the latest data published by the Statistical Committee, prices of vegetables fell by 4.0% in September this year to compare with September 2018 and growth by 2.5% from August 2019.
Fruit prices dropped in September by 1.9% against the same month of last year, and by 2.0% against the previous month.
In total, fruit and vegetable prices dropped by 6.52% in August against July. Having a share of 9.08% in the consumer basket, those product groups contributed to a 0.6 percentage point decrease in the overall consumer prices in the reporting period.
Meanwhile, the prices for meat products dropped by 1.2% and 0.1% in comparison respectively in September 2018 and in August of the ongoing year.
