Pashinyan joins his wife, daughters to attend WCIT 2019 opening concert
Accompanied by his spouse Anna Hakobyan and his daughters, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia on Sunday attended the opening ceremony of the 23rd World Congress on Information Technology, which is being held in Yerevan on October 6-9.
The PM and his family listened to musical performances by the WCIT World Orchestra, composed of 70 foreign and 30 Armenian musicians. Works by famous Armenian composers Aram Khachaturian, Tigran Mansurian and others were performed during the event, the PM's press service reported.
For the first time in world practice, the orchestra performed an Armenian spiritual song – “sharakan” - as conceived by means of artificial intelligence software based on Armenian sacred music analyses. The musical piece was presented to the orchestra in real time using artificial intelligence and performed by musicians.
The concert was directed by Armenia State Symphony Orchestra Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Sergey Smbatyan. World-famous DJ Armin van Buuren joined the orchestra during the performance.
WCIT is the world’s largest IT event, which this year is being held in Armenia. More than 2500 leaders, innovators, politicians, researchers, art figures and show business stars from 70 countries are in attendance.
