Reality television star, activist, entrepreneur, beauty mogul and producer Kim Kardashian addressed on Tuesday a plenary session at the 23rd World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) being held in Yerevan on 6-9 October.

Kim Kardashian's first words after coming out on stage at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex were: “I am so excited to be here. There is no place I would rather be at a tech conference than in Armenia. It feels good to be here.”

The TV star next shared her experience on how one can succeed by using technology, building a large follower base (250 million) and a successful business.

“I always knew that I wanted to be on TV, I was always fascinated by reality… but I never really had a plan or a goal of how to figure it out. I would say in life I am very organized and I am very thought out, but I did wing it and I think it’s OK to wing it sometimes,” she said, stressing the need to respond to new opportunities.

Speaking about the beginning of her career, she noted it was an evolution of finding her confidence and power, which she had to do in front of the world.

“The main message that I want to tell everybody, especially women, is it’s OK to figure it out as you go,” Kardashian said.

Asked how she manages to balance privacy with a transparent life, she said: “I thing in the beginning I didn’t even know what the word ‘privacy’ really meant. I was very OK with people knowing every detail of my life. As you get a little bit older and you have kids and you realize you do want to value some privacy, I figured out a really good balance of sharing what I want to share.

“There definitely is oversharing, especially when safety can be a factor, and when there are so many eyes on you, I learned first-hand that if you share too much it could be a little bit dangerous at times, and so I was really cautious and I move very cautiously now that I have kids, but I still love to be open and honest.”

Kardashian also talked about her businesses, the brands of perfumes, shapewear, cosmetics and even the Kim Kardashian video game, noting she is involved in every step of making her products starting from the packaging to the logo design.
