Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received on Tuesday his Georgian counterpart  Giorgi Gakharia who is on an official visit to Armenia, the press department at the government reported.  After the welcoming ceremony and the face-to face meeting, the heads of the two countries held a briefing with reporters at the Government House in Yerevan.

In Pashinyan’s words, the dynamics of the interactions, the level of mutual trust and Georgia’s PM visit to Armenia come to prove that Georgia attaches special interest to relations with Armenia. Pashinyan named the talks with Gakharia efficient and praised the readiness on both sides to consistently expand the cooperation.

“We discussed almost the whole scope of bilateral agenda issues. Since the scope of topics is quite wide it is difficult to cover all matters in one meeting,” Pashinyan said, pointing to the importance of implementation of transport and energy projects as well as the development of economic relations in the context of the regional stability.

“The regional stability and the formation of atmosphere of peace is among Armenia’s top foreign policy issues. In this regards, we are confident the continuous development of Armenian-Georgian relations should not be implicated by any foreign factors,” said Pashinyan.

Georgian Prime Minister, in turn,  underlined that ancestors laid the foundation for the history of friendship between the two countries and nations.

“The Georgian government is ready to work harder to make the Georgian-Armenian relations more efficient for the welfare of every citizen. Although we have good relations at present, we can further develop the relations to bring more benefit to people including in economy, constructions, infrastructure, culture, sport and other spheres,” Gakharia said.

To note, the face-to-face meeting then continued in an expanded format with participation of the governmental members of the delegations of Georgia and Armenia.
