Former chief of Armenia’s oversight service denies hitting child with car
Davit Sanasaryan, the former head of Armenia’s State Oversight Service facing corruption charges, took to Facebook to refute as ‘fake news’ the reports that he hit a boy near a Yerevan street with his car last month.
“According to one of the propaganda outlets, I have struck a child with my car. I claim with all responsibility that it’s fake news,” he wrote. “I am also asking reporters not to reach me for comments. This is another lie just like the ones related to the car, house, businesses, suit and others.”
His comments came in response to a report by Analitik.am alleging the former oversight service chief hit a 6-year-old boy with his car near a building on 4 Kievyan Street on 12 September.
Speaking to a reporter of the media outlet, the child’s mother revealed details of the incident, noting after hitting the child, Sanasaryan did not take any action and did not assist them in covering the costs of their child’s treatment.
