Pashinyan: 10 million trees to be planted in Armenia by Oct. 10, 2020
Some 10 million trees are planned to be planted in Armenia by October 10, 2020, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said while addressing the “Global Innovation Forum 2019: Transforming Intelligence” in Yerevan on Wednesday.
“The government has developed a very ambitious program which is expected to reach its pick on October 10, 2020. We are planning to plant 10 million trees before the 10th day of the 10th month of 2020. This will symbolize the unity of 10 million Armenians across the statehood of Armenia, the republic and in Armenia,” the PM said.
Minister of Environment Erik Grigoryan noted that it is not only a new idea for the unity of all Armenians, but also Armenia’s step towards handling global environmental problems.
“With this step we also want to urge the international community to continue this challenge and to fight global environmental problems, climate change and other issues," the minister stressed.
