Authorities probing shootings in Yerevan district
Authorities are investigating the shootings outside a residential building in Avan, a district in Yerevan, Armenia, Naira Harutyunyan, the head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigation Committee, told Panorama.am.
The incident took place on Thursday, October 17. Cars parked outside the building were damaged in the shootings. No casualties was reported.
Harutyunyan said a criminal case has been launched into hooliganism committed with a weapon or another item used as a weapon, which is punished with imprisonment for the term of 4 to 7 years under Article 258.4 of Armenia’s Criminal Code.
“Urgent investigative and operational measures are being taken to identify the persons involved in the incident and to make a criminal and legal assessment,” she said.
