EPP concerned with developments around Armenia’s Constitutional Court
The President of the European People's Party (EPP) Joseph Daul has voiced concern over the recent developments around Armenia’s Constitutional Court.
“The EPP is concerned by intimidation and a criminal case against Constitutional Court Chair Tovmasyan. The constitutional order and rule of law in Armenia must be guaranteed. The current government must stick to its Constitution, guarantee proper checks and balances and separation of power,” the Chairman of the largest group at the EU Parliament wrote on Twitter.
He also called on European and other international institutions to closely monitor the situation and prevent any developments that could undermine democracy in Armenia.
