First-time pediatric living-donor liver transplantation performed in Armenia
Doctors of Armenia’s Arabkir Medical Center have performed first-ever living donor liver transplantation on a child jointly with doctors from Belarus.
A professor at the Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU), Artavazd Sahakyan participated in the transplant surgery performed on Tuesday, October 22, YSMU Chief of Staff Shushan Danielyan said in a Facebook post.
“Performing a pediatric living-donor liver transplantation is reality today. This is another achievement of our medicine, thanks to Dr. Babloyan. The operation was fully funded by Arabkir Medical Center,” she said.
