Armenia's economic activity index grows by 7.1%
According to the data released by Armenia's National Statistical Service (NSS), the economic activity index (EAI) of Armenia increased by 7.1 % in January-September 2019 to compare with the same period of 2018. The EAI rose by 7.5% to compare September of the previous year and increased by 7.8% against the index of August of the ongoing year.
The production volume in January – September rose by է 9.7% and by 11% to compare with September of the previous year.
The trade turnover volumes rose by 8.8% in the first nine months of the ongoing year, while the service volume (excluding the trade) 15.5%.
According to the statistics, the consumer prices rose by 1.6 % to compare with the previous year. Compared to January of the previous year the gross agricultural output decreased by 4.8% in January-September 2019, while the electricity production volumes recorded a 2.2% decrease.
The NSS data indicate that in January-July 2019, the average monthly salary in Armenia grew by 5.9% at an average annual rate of 7.4%.
