National Gallery of Armenia to participate in exhibition marking the 120 anniversary of Alexander Deyneka
The National Gallery of Armenia along with 37 galleries will participate in the exhibition marking the 120th anniversary of Russian artist Alexander Deyneka that will open at Manezh central exhibition hall in St. Petersburg, Russia.
As the Gallery reported in a press release, the Armenian gallery will be represented by the painting “Mayakovsky poems” (1955, canvas oil, 132 х 200,5cm) from its collection. The exhibition will display nearly 300 items of paintings, graphic works, photographs, sculptures, decorative art pieces. The representatives of the National Gallery have participated in the preparation works of the exhibition.
Deyneka was a Soviet Russian painter, graphic artist and sculptor, regarded as one of the most important Russian modernist figurative painters of the first half of the 20th century.
