'The Teacher': New exhibition marking Komitas’ 150 anniversary to be held in Yerevan
Yerevan’s Komitas Museum-Institute in collaboration with Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art will host a temporary exhibition entitled "The Teacher" to mark the great composer’s 150th anniversary. It is about Komitas as a teacher, and his students, the museum-institute reported.
In thematic sections titled "Gevorgian Theological Seminary - first steps", "Famous Students: Vahan Ter-Arakelyan, Spiridon Melikyan", "Five Students of Komitas", "Traditions of Komitas: Margarit Babayan", around 200 documents, photos, personal items are on display, most of them - for the first time. These materials come from the Museum of Literature and Art and from the National Archives of Armenia.
In "Komitas and the Children" section, the memories of Komitas' students about their great teacher will be presented through multimedia.
The exhibition runs through March 1, 2020.
