6.9 billion drams to be allocated to Armenia’s Environment Ministry in 2020
A total of 6.9 billion drams are set to be allocated to Armenia’s Environment Ministry in 2020 under the draft state budget, of which 1.6 billion will be allocated by the German Development Bank as a grant, Environment Minister Erik Grigoryan told lawmakers in the parliament on Tuesday.
According to Grigoryan, his ministry plans to implement five programs involving 28 events next year.
"The funds totaling 2.8 billion drams, of which 1.6 billion drams are grants, will go to maintenance, technical upgrades and special protection areas. 2.2 billion drams have been allocated for the forest program, and there are also museum programs, which include the Nature Museum and the Yerevan Zoo,” the minister said.
Grigoryan said under the draft state budget, more funds will be allocated to raise the salaries of foresters and clean up floodplain areas of Sevan.
