European Championship: Armenian men’s chess team to face Slovenia
The Armenian national chess team will face Slovenia in the 6th round of the European Team Chess Championship underway in Batumi, Georgia, the National Olympic Committee reported.
The Armenian team will feature Levon Aronyan, Hrant Melkumyan, Gabriel Sargsyan and Hayk Martirosyan. In the previous five rounds, the Armenian team claimed victories against Norway, Croatia, and Czech Republic, drew with Ukraine and suffered defeat from Russia. The team is placed on 5-8 positions in the tournament table with 7 points.
Meanwhile, the women’s team will play against Latvia in the upcoming round. After five rounds played, our team is on the 8-12 position with 6 points.
