Human rights activist: Arsen Babayan still banned from talking to his family over the phone
The jailed former deputy chief of the Armenian parliament staff, Arsen Babayan is still not allowed to talk to his family members over the phone, human rights activist, former Deputy Minister of Justice Ruben Melikyan said on Facebook.
Babayan, who was arrested on 21 October, is suspected of forging documents during the resignation process of then Constitutional Court Chairman Gagik Harutyunyan.
Melikyan said the ban on Babayan’s meetings with his family members, including his two kids aged one and six years, has only been lifted, while the ban on phone calls remains in effect.
“Agree, not all would want their small children to visit them in jail, but would prefer to communicate with them over the phone, promising to return from a business trip as soon as possible with numerous gifts,” he said.
