Fruit, vegetable prices up in Armenia in October: statistics
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages grew by 1.0% in Armenia last month from the previous month, which was largely prompted by 5.2% and 6.7% rise in vegetable and fruit prices, respectively, the latest official statistics show.
According to the data published by the Statistical Committee, fruit prices increased by 8.3% last month against the same month of 2018, and by 6.7% against the previous month.
Prices of vegetables rose by 9.3% in October this year to compare with October 2018, and by 5.2% from September 2019.
In total, fruit and veg inflation was 5.75% in October against September. Having a share of 9.08% in the consumer basket, those product groups contributed to a 0.5 percentage point increase in overall consumer prices in the reporting period.
