World Under-16 Chess Olympiad: Armenia placed 12th
The Armenian team was placed the 12th at the 2019 World Under-16 Chess Olympiad concluded in Turkey. In the final ninth round the Armenian team lost to Belarus 1:3 and ended the competition with 11 points.
The Armenian team was represented by Mamikon Gharibyan, Armen Barseghyan, Tigran Sargsyan, Albert Gevorgyan and Astghik Gevorgyan.
Overall, 48 teams and 235 athletes from 38 countries took part in the tournament. Azerbaijan took the first place, Uzbekistan became second, Belarus became third, Kazakhstan became fourth and Israel took fifth places.
