Armenian wines, brandies showcased at China International Import Expo 2019
On November 5-10, the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia (VWFA) is exhibiting more than 160 Armenian wines and 34 brandies of 13 local producers in a joint national pavilion at China International Import Expo 2019 (CIIE) taking place in the National Exhibition and Convention Center of Shanghai.
CIIE, which is held for the second time, provides a platform for countries and enterprises to showcase their products, popularize their brands and find more business partners in the world's second largest economy, the VWFA said on Facebook.
“Winemaking is a priority sector for the economic growth, so the VWFA makes every effort to ensure that export-oriented companies are properly exhibited at the world's second largest economy exhibition like the China International Import Expo. Armenian wines have already been exported to 32 countries and I am confident that CIIE will open new perspectives to expand export volumes of Armenian wines and brandy through networking and building new business connections,” said VWFA Executive Director Zaruhi Muradyan.
Last year CIIE had 1,178 exhibitors and 2,462 buyers from 82 countries and regions, with 657 preliminary agreements signed. This year the number of exhibitors reached 3,893 from about 170 countries and regions. According to the latest booking data 650,000 visitors from home and abroad have made online pre-registrations for the expo.
