Final concert of the "Contemporary Classics" Composers' Festival in Yerevan today
The Contemporary Classics Composers' Festival that had brought together contemporary legendary composers in Armenia will conclude its work on Saturday at Aram Khachaturian concert hall at 7:00 PM.
As the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra (ASSO) reports, the final concert under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan will feature A.Tchaikovsky's Grand Serenade. Soloists Yuri Bashmet, Alexander Tchaikovsky will perform “Etudes in Simple Tones”. Pianists Alexander Tchaikovsky, Daria Tchaikovskaya will present A.Tchaikovsky's Double Concerto for 2 Pianos and Orchestra.
The Contemporary Classics Composers' Festival is organized by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra , in partnership with the European Foundation for Support of Culture and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport. The main mission of the festival was to represent and introduce to the Armenian audience the developments of the contemporary music art and the lavish palette of the execting composing school. This year’s festival was dedicated to Karl Jenkins - one of the most performed living composers in the world.
