Up to 10 new flights to operate from Yerevan Zvartnots airport
Russia’s Azimut airlines plans to open new flight to Kaluga from Yerevan international airport, Tatevik Revazyan, Chairwoman of the Civil Aviation Committee stated on Thursday at the Cabinet session. As Revazyan informed, the first flight is scheduled for December 14.
“We have 8 new confirmed flights and plan to increase the number to 10 by summer 2020,” Revazyan said, adding among the new airlines that are interested in the Armenian market are AirBaltics.
Meanwhile, RyanAir that earlier announced about upcoming flights from Yerevan to Europe, has confirmed four directions and plans to add three more.
The minister of Territorial Administration Suren Papikyan, in turn, informed there has been a growing interest among local air companies to launch new flights and relevant discussions are yet to be held.
PM Pashinyan concluded that if the expected news come to reality that would turn into a revolution in the sphere of air transportation.
