Firefighters put out fires broken out in grasslands in Armenia
The National Center for Crisis Management of the Rescue Service of Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations received on Thursday 10 emergency calls about fires erupted in various areas of the country covering 200 square meters and more, the ministry reported.
Particularly, the fires broke out in Yerevan (in Nor Nork district – 2000 m2, 700 m2, Davtashen district – 2 ha), in Nizami village of Ararat Province (2000 m2), in the city of Vanadzor (1 ha), in Katnaghbyur village of Lori Province (30 ha), in Vayk town (200 m2), in Zaritap village of Vayots Dzor Province (1 ha), in the spa town of Dilijan of Tavush Province (3 ha) and on Lermontovo-Margaհovit highway (500 m2).
Fires were also reported in Akhlatyan village of Syunik Province (300 ha) and in the area called "Lobuts Gomer" in Tavush Province (15 ha).
Firefighters isolated and extinguished the fires, the ministry said.
