Armenia considers installing statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Yerevan
Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan hosted on Wednesday Ambassador of India to Armenia Kishan Dan Dewal, his office reported.
Congratulating the guest on assuming the diplomatic mission in Armenia, the Yerevan mayor expressed readiness to contribute to the deepening and expansion of relations between the Armenian capital and the cities of India. Marutyan also attached importance to the mutual visits and programs on exchange of experience between the cities.
Kishan Dan Dewal, for his part, highlighting the rich history of Armenian-Indian relations, proposed to deepen relations in specific directions in India's cities, especially in the cities populated by Armenians or having Armenian heritage.
The officials also discussed the idea of installing a statue of Indian independence hero Mahatma Gandhi in Yerevan.
