Yerevan to host press conference dedicated to 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence
Each year on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, starts the International Campaign of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence and lasts till 10 December, Human Rights Day. The campaign aims to help in preventing and eliminating violence against women and girls around the world, UN Country Office in Armenia reports.
This year, the 16-day campaign will run under the slogan “Generation Equality: Stop sexual harassment”, focusing on sexual harassment in different areas of life, combating and preventing violence and harassment against women. During 16-day period, the campaign will include several events, starting with this press conference.
The campaign is especially meaningful in the framework of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals, where Goal 5 aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, and includes specific targets to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls.
In the framework of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, UN Country Office in Armenia in cooperation with UN sister agencies, organizes a press conference on 25 November 2019 at 12:00-13:15 at the Conference Hall of the UN House at 14 Petros Adamyan st., Yerevan, Armenia.
