Pashinyan offers condolences on demise of legendary Soviet intelligence officer Gohar Vardanyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence message to the family of great Soviet intelligence officer Gohar Vardanyan. The message, publicized by his office, reads:
“I was deeply grieved to learn about the demise of great Soviet intelligence officer Gohar Vardanyan.
A legendary scout has passed away, a true patriot of her country, a bright and extraordinary personality. She attended many brilliant operations featuring in the history of intelligence. She was a human and a woman of great soul, who together with her husband Gevorg Andreevich devoted her life to the homeland’s service and defense.
The Gevorgyan family always kept in close touch with Armenia, helping us to establish and strengthen our statehood.
The memory of the legendary scout and her high deeds will live forever in the hearts of many generations of Armenians as a lesson of true patriotism for future generations.
On behalf of the Armenian nation and on my own behalf, I express deepest condolences to Gohar Vardanyan’s relatives and friends.”
