Putin expressed condolences on the passing of legendary intelligence agent Gohar Vardanyan
Vladimir Putin expressed his sincere condolences on the passing of the legendary Soviet intelligence agent Gohar Vardanyan, the Kremlin press service reported.
“Without Gohar Vardanyan, and her husband the world history could turn the other way,” Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson to Russian President, told reporters, adding: “Putin knew well both Gohar and her husband. After the demise of husband, Gohar was hosted by Putin, and the President himself visited her once.”
To remind, legendary Soviet Armenian spy Gohar Vardanian, who took part in a secret operation to ensure the security of the 1943 Tehran Conference, died in Moscow on Monday at the age of 93.
