Fallen solder Henrik Ghahramanyan would have turned 23 today
November 28 marks the birthday anniversary of Henrik Ghahramanyan, an Armenian soldier who died a hero’s death during the 2016 April War unleashed against Artsakh by Azerbaijan. The hero soldier would have turned 23 today.
Henrik was born in Russia and lived there until the age of seven when his family returned home to the town of Masis in Ararat Province,
After graduating from Masis Basic School No. 2, he was admitted to the Masis State Agricultural College.
Henrik, a kind and bright person, grew up in a loving and caring atmosphere. According to his parents, he was such a nice, modest and quiet boy that everyone loved him.
“He was a very kind, intelligent, modest, responsible and exemplary school student. There was no one who would not love Henrik. He is a great loss to us all,” the school headmaster, Arevik Nazaryan told Panorama.am.
Henrik was drafted into the army on January 25, 2015. During the first six months of his military service, Henrik served in Armenia’s Lusakert, but then volunteered to go to Artsakh, serving near Talish.
Henrik last spoke to his father on April 2 and told him that everything was going well. For the next five days, the family had no news of their son until they were finally told that Henrik had died trying to save the lives of his three comrades in the battlefield.
The hero was posthumously awarded with the "For Bravery” medal of Armenia and the "For Service in Battle" medal of Artsakh.
