Some roads closed, hardly passable in Armenia
Some highways are closed or difficult to pass in the territory of Armenia as of 17:00 Monday, the ministry of emergency situations said in a daily road condition update.
According to the source, Vardenyats Pass from Gegharkunik province direction and Sotk-Karvachar roadway are shut down for trailer trucks and hardly passable for light vehicles.
Snow is reported on Martuni-Tchambarak highway, Gavar, Vardenis, Spitak, Stepanavan, towns, as well as in Aparan and Tsaghkahovit regions of Aragatsotn province, in Shirak and Gorayk village of Syunik province.
According to the Roads Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for trailer trucks.
The General Department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia reports 230 trucks are stuck on the Russian side of the border. The drivers are strictly recommended to use winter tires while traveling to regions.
