Drifting from negotiations based on maximalist approaches is a sign of weakness - Ambassador Armen Papikyan
Ambassador Armen Papikyan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the OSCE has commented on the document about the NK settlement process disseminated by Azerbaijani side at the 26th OSCE Ministerial Council. In an interview with Armenpress news agency, Papikyan noted that “drifting from negotiations based on maximalist approaches is a sign of weakness.”
“This is neither the first nor the last similar statement made by the Representation of Azerbaijan. Probably, the only difference is that it is made amidst the continuous political reshuffling in Azerbaijan, which attests that at this stage Azerbaijan is not ready for a constructive engagement. Drifting from negotiations based on maximalist approaches is a sign of weakness”, he said, as quoted by the source.
To remind, Azerbaijani side earlier circulated a document on the settlement of the NK conflict prior to the meeting between Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Conference in Bratislava. The document reflected on the Azerbaijani vision and interpretation of the settlement process.
