Three candidates nominated for the post of FFA president
The candidates for the post of the President and members of the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) were announced on Friday.
Among the candidates for FFA president are Armen Melikbekyan, who currently serves as the deputy president of the federation, the President of Lori FC Tovmas Grigoryan and the president of Ani FC, former Armenian footballer Khoren Hovhannisyan.
The candidacy of Arsen Aghajanyan nominated by Pyunik FC was dropped out due to incomplete documents.
Meanwhile, 24 candidates will compete for a lace in the 16-seat Executive Committee of the federation. The election of the new president and members of the executive committee will take place on December 23 at an extraordinary session of the FFA.
To remind, former FFA President Artur Vanetsyan resigned from office in early November. The decision was made at the FFA executive committee session after the Armenian national football team suffered the biggest defeat in its history losing to Italy 9 - 1 in the last qualifier for the 2020 European Championship on Monday.
