Pashinyan: I am not stealing a penny
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan warned against working without invoices during the parliamentary debates on the 2020 draft state budget.
“A person that evades taxes and takes steps in that direction steals from a soldier who is standing at the border and endangering his life to defend our right to hold debates here,” he told lawmakers. “Therefore, don’t steal from our soldiers! I think everyone knows that we are not stealing from the state budget. I am not stealing a penny, and, on the contrary, I declare that we will cut off the hands of all those who will try to take anything from our national wealth, our soldier, pensioner or teacher,” he stressed.
Pashinyan noted that in the recent period a total of 123 criminal cases have been launched in Armenia. The cases concern 220 people who were registered by school principals as employees, but did not show up for work.
“These cases alone have cost the state 350 million drams in damages,” Nikol Pashinyan emphasized.
