Fruit, vegetable prices up in Armenia in November: statistics
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages grew by 2.6% in Armenia last month from the previous month, which was largely prompted by 20.1% and 3.5% rise in vegetable and fruit prices, respectively, the latest official statistics show.
According to the data published by the Statistical Committee, vegetable prices increased by 10.6%, last month against the same month of 2018, and by 20.1% against the previous month.
Prices of vegetables rose by 9.3% in October this year to compare with October 2018, and by 5.2% from September 2019.
In total, fruit and vegetable inflation was 14.0% in November against October. Having a share of 9.08% in the consumer basket, those product groups contributed to a 1.3% point increase in overall consumer prices in the reporting period.
