Armenian weightlifters won medals at U15 & Youth Weightlifting Championships
The Armenian team has claimed 13 medals at the U15 & Youth Weightlifting Championships held in Israel. As the National Olympic Committee reported, in the U17 championship Liana Gyurjyan (+81kg) and Garnik Cholakyan (49kg) claimed the champion’s title.
Weightlifters Meline Khachatryan (71kg), Margarita Arakelyan (81kg), Gevorg Ghahramanyan (89kg) and Garik Karapetyan (96kg) claimed silver, while Ara Poghosyan (61 kg) and Petros Petrosyan (102 kg) - bronze medals.
In the U15 championships, Aleksandra Grigoryan (49kg), Julieta Avanesyan (81kg), Garik Voskanyan (49kg), Rafik Minasyan (55kg) and Albert Tumanyan (102kh) became European Vice champions.
The Armenian team was represented by 23 athletes at the tournament, the source said.
