Reduced roaming rates expected with Artsakh from July 2020
The rates for roaming service with Artsakh will reduce from July 2020, the Minister of IT Hakob Arshakyan told reporters on Wednesday.
“As part of the equalization policy a new rates are under consideration. We have had efficient cooperation with the Public Services Regulatory Commission, mobile operators and Artsakh partners as a result of which the roaming rates have been reduced by 11- 44% for both incoming and outgoing calls,” the minister said.
Arshakyan added that negotiations continue, and the service fees may further reduce.
“The main issue is that one telecommunication operator holds the monopoly in Artsakh, and the date ends in 2020. I believe the competition will regulate the sphere,” said Arshakyan, adding the matter has economic and political components.
The minister declined to speak of the political component, yet noted that the economic aspect is being addressed.
