Minister: Funds for Armenia’s military-industrial complex to double next year
This year, additional funds amounting to1 billion drams have been allocated to the military-industrial complex to launch new designs and projects on the account of savings, Armenian High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan told a year-end news conference on Wednesday.
He praised the fact that the military-industrial complex functions under the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
“We have created a situation where there is a ministry dealing with the military industry, the main task of which is to use new technologies and capabilities to create new developments in the military industry, to modernize weapons and ammunition,” the minister said.
The minister reiterated that the funds for the military-industrial complex will double in 2020.
Arshakyan also said that the ministry has developed three strategies – high-tech industry development, digitalization and development of military-industrial complex – which have already been put forward for public discussion.
