Armenia’s Investigative Committee launched investigation to find out all circumstances of theft attempt from the editorial of «Zhoghovurd» daily newspaper, hindrance to legal professional activities of reporter.

As the Committee reported in a press release, on December 19, 2019 at 11:44 a call was received from the chief editor of «Zhoghovurd» daily newspaper informing that the editorial had been overturned.

Pursuant to initial data, on the mentioned day from 00:30 to 10:20 the person having committed the alleged crime opened the balcony window of the editorial with technical means, illegally entered and tried to commit theft. However, under unforeseen circumstances he could not complete the crime.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Point 1.1 of the Part 3 of the Article 34-177 and the Part 1 of the Article 164 of RA Criminal Code for conduction of preliminary investigation and was received in proceeding.

It is noted that measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case, to find the person (persons) having committed the alleged crime.

As reported earlier, unknown people broke into the editorial office of Zhoghovurd daily and Armlur.am news website on Thursday. An employee of the newspaper found out that the office is fully ransacked after entering the building at 10am, Armlur.am reported.
