Expert: Lack of strategy in Artsakh settlement dangerous
The Armenian authorities have neither strategy nor concept in the settlement of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict, making contradictory statements at different moments, according to Giro Manoyan, Director of ARF Bureau's Hay Dat (Armenian Cause) and Political Affairs Office.
“The lack of strategy poses serious risks,” he told a conference hosted by the Voskanapat think tank on Monday.
According to the expert, Yerevan stresses the need to involve Artsakh in the peace talks, whereas before the Bratislava meeting the Armenian prime minister stated at the National Assembly that Armenia and Artsakh have ‘absolutely identical’ positions on the conflict settlement.
“The announcement came before a meeting which was expected to address, among other things, the issue of Artsakh’s participation in negotiations. It’s incomprehensible, because if you are going to say the same thing, why should Artsakh’s involvement make any sense," he stressed.
According to Kiro Manoyan, the renewed war will be much heavier than the 2016 April War, as Azerbaijan has prepared for it.
“The war is inevitable. We must always act upon this approach,” the expert said.
