Russia closely follows developments Armenia, Ambassador says
The Russian state and business are closely following the developments in Armenia, the changes initiated by the country’s authorities, including the strategies drafted in the economic, social and humanitarian spheres, the Ambassador of Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin told a press conference on Tuesday in Yerevan.
“Obviously, the selection of partners in these initiatives, including foreign partners and consultants are the sovereign matter of Armenia, yet it is important for us that the changes underway in different spheres that relate to our close relations do not create rifts in our relations which are sometimes the case” the Ambassador added.
Mr Kopirkin next attached importance to the cooperation between Armenian and Russian legislative bodies, pointing to the good work done over the past year and the future plans.
At the press conference, the Ambassador noted that the coming year is important for both Russia and Armenia as the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be marked and it is expected that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirms his attendance of the May 9 events.
