Constitutional Court chairman says was warned of charges six months ago
“The investigator said he had never seen such a defendant in his life to be in such high spirits. Probably no investigator in the world has seen it,” Constitutional Court Chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan told reporters during a rally outside the building of Armenia’s highest court on Friday.
As reported earlier, the Special Investigative Service has brought charges of abuse of official power against the Constitutional Court chairman.
“We confirm that the charges have been brought under Part 2 of Article 308 of the Criminal Code of Armenia,” Panorama.am was told at the SIS.
Tovmasyan states he was warned of the charges still six months ago.
“I was warned that ‘you will be charged one day for failing to do the 'x', ' y ', 'z' steps.' So, I will talk about it all one day ... the 'x', ' y ', 'z' steps meant to submit resignation,” he stressed.
