SIS brought charges against the President of the Constitutional Court
The Special Investigation Service of Armenia (SIS) confirmed the reports that charges of abuse of authority have been brought against the President of Armenia’s Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan.
“We confirm that the charges have been brought according to Article 308 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia,” Panorama.am was told at the SIS.
To note, Tovmasyan was earlier interrogated at the SIS.
As envisaged by the country’s legislation, the crime of abuse of official authority or duties by a state official for mercenary interests, personal, other interests or group interests is punished with imprisonment for 2- 6 years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain posts or practice certain activities for up to 3 years.
