Armenian university hospital doctors perform 14 surgeries on New Year’s Eve
Doctors of Armenia’s Heratsi Hospital Complex No. 1 performed 14 surgeries on New Year’s Eve, Rector of the Yerevan State Medical University Armen Muradyan said in a Facebook post.
According to him, 12 of the surgeries were needed for burns and other injuries caused by fireworks.
“I am sure that this number is higher across the republic. The university hospital doctors, led by Artavazd Sahakyan, have been working full time from 10:30pm December 31 to date,” he wrote. “On New Year's Eve a total of 14 surgeries were performed, 12 of which were burns and other injuries caused by fireworks.”
