Some roads closed, difficult to pass in Armenia
Some highways are closed or difficult to pass in the territory of Armenia as of 1:50pm Friday, January 3, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Vardenyats Pass (from the side of Gegharkunik Province) is shut down for trucks and is difficult to pass for other vehicles.
Vardenyats Pass (from the side of Vayots Dzor Province) is partly covered with clear ice.
Snowfalls are reported in the towns of Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Jermuk (Vayots Dzor Province), Sisian, Goris and Kajaran (Syunik Province), as well as on Sisian-Zanger and Saravan-Zanger roadways.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open for all types of vehicles.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
