Some roads closed, difficult to pass in Armenia
Some highways are closed or difficult to pass in the territory of Armenia as of 6:30pm Saturday, January 4, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Vardenyats Pass is shut down for trucks and is difficult to pass for passenger vehicles.
Sotk-Karvachar highway is difficult to pass and is passable for trucks only in case of using tire chains.
Goris-Sisian highway, "Zanger" area of Syunik Province and the roadways of Kotayk Province are partly covered with clear ice.
Fog has descended on Vardenyats Pass, the towns of Dilijan, Berd, Noyemberyan (Tavush Province), Charentsavan, Yeghvard and Abovyan (Kotayk Province).
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open for all types of vehicles.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
