Ambulance service received more calls during the New Year holidays this year
The ambulance service of Armenia responded to 8,146 calls during the New Year holidays from December 30 to January 7, which was by 384 calls more than in the same period of last year, Head of Ambulance Service Taguhi Stepanyan told reporters at a press conference today.
Overall, 1,657 people were hospitalized during the mentioned period which is more by 350 to compare with the previous year’s statistics. As to the emergency medical services for children, the number was 798 out of which 276 cases required hospitalization.
As Taguhi Stepanyan informed, nine firecracker related injuries were registered in the country during the holidays, three people, including one children were hospitalized. Among most common complaints received to the Service were cases of food and alcohol poisoning, cardiovascular diseases and acute respiratory infections.
