Svetlana Navasardyan, Gevorg Gharabekyan to perform with National Chamber Orchestra
Pianist Svetlana Navasardyan and Conductor Gevorg Gharabekyan will perform with National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia (artistic director and principal conductor Vahan Mardirossian) on January 25 at Komitas Chamber House, the Orchestra reported in a release.
The concert programme features Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 11 in F major by W. A. Mozart Symphony No.33 in B-flat major, K.319, Variations on a Theme of Tchaikovsky by Anton Arensky, Op.35a and Chamber Symphony Op. 110a by Dmitri Shostakovich, Svetlana Navasardyan, an Armenian classical concert pianist is awardee of prizes at Zwickau's Robert Schumann (1966) and Leipzig's Johann Sebastian Bach Competition (1968). She later became a prizewinner at the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition (1972) and at the inaugural edition of the Sydney International Piano Competition (1977). Her repertoire includes Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Brahms, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Hindemith, Shostakovich, Komitas, Khachaturian, Hovunts, Mansurian's and other's compositions.
