Armenia’s former security chief says his ‘warnings several months ago’ also concerned Constitutional Court
Former Director of Armenia’s National Security Service, Major-General Artur Vanetsyan said his warnings several months ago also dealt with the developments surrounding the Constitutional Court.
“My warnings over the security threats facing the country a couple of months ago also concerned the developments around the Constitutional Court that continue to date,” Vanetsyan tweeted.
In his congratulatory message on the Day of the National Security Officer celebrated on 20 December, the former security chief stressed, “The security of the homeland is above any political considerations and interests. Time is transient, while the interests and safety of Armenia and Artsakh are permanent.
Earlier in a statement announcing his resignation, Vanetsyan said: “Sate-building has its logic. The spontaneity of decisions, the turbulence of actions, the workstyle of not distinguishing the primary from the secondary and the transient from the permanent is not the path that leads to the achievement of our goals.”
