Two seriously injured in house explosion in Armenian village
Two elderly people have been hospitalized with serious injuries after an explosion hit their house in the village of Zar in Armenia’s Kotayk Province.
The blast took place in the early hours on Friday, making the house collapse and damaging the roof and windows of nearby houses, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
One fire and rescue squad of the ministry responded to the accident after receiving a report at around 8:30am.
Before the arrival of rescuers, the injured residents, identified only by initials as Grisha, 86, and Knar, 84, had been taken to the Abovyan Medical Center.
The cause of the explosion wasn’t immediately clear.
